Type of venue

Modelled on the iconic Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, the 2,000-seat Grand Theatre at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre is India’s most technologically advanced venue for the performing arts.
Designed by TVS Design with input from Theatre Projects Consultants, the theatre’s architecture wraps the audience around the stage, creating a sense of intimacy despite the impressive scale of the hall.
The most striking feature is the custom-built LED ceiling, composed of 17 lotus-petal panels embedded with 8,400 Swarovski crystals. Each crystal contains RGBW+WW LEDs, enabling fully programmable pixel mapping for immersive visual atmospheres. The ceiling also incorporates concealed catwalks and supports advanced stage lighting integration.
A sophisticated fly system with 69 battens allows for full-stage, rapid scene changes. The orchestra pit can accommodate up to 100 musicians and can be transformed into a proscenium extension when required. The theatre is equipped with an integrated Dolby Atmos surround system and a virtual acoustic environment, delivering exceptional sound quality across every seat.
